Because even though UVB rays (which cause sunburn) is mostly blocked by glass, 50% of UVA rays (which age the skin) still penetrate windows.
Over time exposure to UV rays will lead to DNA damage that causes premature ageing, rough texture, loss of laxity, pigmentation, risk of skin cancer, and more.
To maintain protection reapply your SPF every 2 hours.
And remember the SPF in your moisturizer and/or foundation is not sufficient- Stick to a standard broad-spectrum SPF 30+.
